Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 6, 2026

PixelWars collects as little personal data as possible. This page explains exactly what we store and why.

What we collect

  • Display name (required):shown publicly on the board, in the live feed, in leaderboards, and on live streams of the board. Do not use your real name if you don't want it public.
  • Email (optional): used only to send your private manage link and to notify you if your tile is painted over. Never shown publicly, never sold. An email given with a content report is used only to follow up on that report.
  • Submitted content and links: the image/text you place on the board — and any link you attach to it — is public by definition and may appear in streams, screenshots, and archives of the board.
  • Purchase history: the record of what was bought, where on the board, when, and for how much.
  • Payment data: handled entirely by PayPal. We store only the PayPal order/transaction identifiers (transaction metadata) and the amount — never card numbers or PayPal credentials.
  • IP address: stored with purchases and reports for fraud and abuse prevention (rate limiting, bans).
  • Moderation results and logs: automated content-check verdicts and any moderation actions taken (approve / reject / hide / remove, with reasons) are kept with the purchase record for safety auditing.

How we use it

  • Operating the service (displaying the board and your content).
  • Processing payments through PayPal.
  • Abuse prevention (rate limiting, bans, fraud checks).
  • Content moderation and handling reports.
  • Legal and accounting records of transactions.
  • Support — answering your emails and refund requests.

What we don't do

  • No advertising trackers, no analytics cookies, no data selling.
  • The only cookie we set is a session cookie for the site administrator.

Third parties

  • PayPal processes payments under its own privacy policy.
  • OpenAI's moderation service is used to check submitted images/text for prohibited content before display.

Retention & your rights

Purchase records are kept as long as the board operates (they are the board) and as required for legal/accounting purposes. For privacy requests — including asking us to delete your email address or other personal data — write to avikik@gmail.com. Note that content displayed publicly may already have been captured by third parties (streams, screenshots) beyond our control.
